April happenings

This month is just flying by!
Good and bad, I guess.  Maggie's birthday is going to come up real quickly, but I have been working a lot of my school work (successfully), and the weather is starting to behave like spring, so we have been outside a lot soaking up the sun.

Meanwhile, we had a first here at the Teson house.
Colin ruptured his eardrum last week because of an ear infection.
Both kids have had ear tubes, and both kids have had these ear tubes fall out since then (they are only supposed to stay in for about 2-3 years).  Anyway, lately we have been having some issues with both of them getting ear infections again - oh JOY!

Colin, in particular, seems to have his symptoms show up very quickly.
He went to bed find on one night, then woke up around 10:30 screaming and crying in pain.  The medicine did not seem to help at all, and we finally got him to calm down enough to sleep at 3 am.
Yes, that's right, 4.5 hours of screaming before he settled down.  Then, he woke up at 6 am and reported to me, "mom, I just coughed, and then water started coming out of my ear!"
I took him to the doctor a few hours later (with the gunk still streaming out of his ear), and we left with a diagnosis of ruptured ear drum, and two antibiotics.
We see the ENT specialist on Wednesday for more evaluation of his snoring issues at night (and now for his ear infection stuff!)

Here's Colin right before the doctor appointment.  We got to the walk-in clinic a few minutes early (I wanted to make sure I got the first 1st available spot open), and he thought it was awesome he could stick his head out the sun roof on my car.

Notice the cotton ball in his right ear - that stuff was NASTY coming out.
It drained for 3 days and has now finally stopped.

Brian and I got to go out to dinner on Friday with my colleagues.
Dr. Sabath took us all out in celebration of him finishing his book chapter (and for Dave and I helping him out  with that endeavor)  We went to Cooper's Hawk on the Plaza and had a lovely evening!
Thanks to Grammie for coming over to put the kids to bed so we could have a few hours to ourselves!

Oh, and we are in full swing for Easter here at our house.
Colin had his Spring Party last week at school and Maggie has hers on Wednesday.  I signed up to bring in "something sweet", so I made white popcorn Bunny Bait!
Maggie and Colin helped with the M&M's and sprinkles.

Such a pretty girl!
Can't believe she will be 3 in just a month.

We are going to celebrate Easter on Saturday with my side of the family, then do our own Easter egg hunt on Sunday morning, followed by Easter Mass and then brunch at Grammie and Grandad's with all of the cousins!  Looking forward to a nice holiday spent with family and friends!
