June Dance Recital - Grease!

Maggie had her summer dance recital early in June.
She did great, and had so much fun!
She loves being on stage and says she doesn't get nervous at all!

They had the cutest costumes this year (and I secretly loved them even more since they didn't have glitter and sequins that end up all over our floors!)

She thought she was pretty cute doing the "wink" in this picture - they were supposed to do it during their routine, too!

Maggie with her buddy Ashlyn
Ashlyn did a special twirl with Maggie at the end of their routine

I snuck backstage to see Maggie before the recital started

And Meemaw and Grammie came to watch the show, too.
She loves getting flowers for her performance

Colin snapped a few pics of us when we got home

Then we took a nice long bike ride to one of our neighborhood pools.

Maggie's pedal came off of her bike so Brian had to ride home to grab some pliers to tighten it up.
Always an adventure!! :)

Memorial Day weekend fun

We've had so much fun getting together with friends and had a wonderful 'extra' day to our Memorial day weekend!

We hit up the pools and got some quality swimming time in

Had dinner at a new friend's house

Went to a neighborhood party (which started from my Bunco group but has expanded to include some other really great families in our neighborhood)

Eli was super excited about getting some time on the tricycle.
He did great!

Still enjoying that Captain America mask!

Maggie had her dance rehearsal for their upcoming show
She's the one being lifted up and twirled around in the middle of the picture

Listening to their awesome teacher, Ms. Catherine

Mags with our cute neighbor Sophie

Then I went to a work conference in Minneapolis for a few days.
I got to hear former Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersey speak for a while - she was very inspiring!

Best part of the trip - planning a couple visits with my ol' BFF Erin and her family that  just happened to live SUPER close to the convention center

Sight-seeing around Minneapolis

Woke up extra early on Friday to do a 5K with my friend Nicole

And got a couple more hours with Erin and her family to eat some fantastic tacos and see Minnehaha falls.

The kids, of course, were enjoying their time alone with Daddy.
I got this picture sent to me just before I boarded the plane to come home!

Such a fun and busy week!

Soccer, Weddings, and Mother's Day

I realized I haven't put up any recent pictures lately, but that should just be a testament as to how busy we've been!
Summer is in full swing and we LOVE it!

We've been having a blast riding around in the garage with the scooter, plasma car, and ripstik!

Colin had an end-of-the-year soccer tournament Mother's Day weekend and I ran into my college roommate there.  Her son was playing the game right before us on the same field.
Such a nice surprise!

Colin and his buddy Finn right after the game

Then Brian's cousin Amy got married and we got all gussied up for the wedding!
It was a beautiful afternoon at a beautiful church!

The best group pic I could get (the lighting was terrible!)

On Mother's Day Colin had an early morning game

Their coach had roses for the players to give to the Mom's.
He had a great game - and scored 3 goals that day!

Colin's cheering section

We got a chance to stop by for a quick second and see Grammie on Mother's day

It was a busy day!!!

Random May fun and last day of school

We had some fun times closing out May...

Grammie let us borrow her Captain America mask and Eli is loving it!

Colin loves to build towers out of cups and is even good enough he can do it in the garage while riding a ripstik.  Pretty fancy!

Eli and I went to a park one afternoon while Maggie was at dance class

I love one on one time with him

He ran so fast across that bridge!

Last day as a 1st grader!

Colin with his 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Keefe

Maggie's teacher stopped by (she's on maternity leave) to wish her students a happy summer!

Happy end-of-the-school-year faces!

On to 2nd and 3rd grade!

We went to the Peanut and grabbed some yummy appetizers for lunch

And then finished up the afternoon with some delicious ice cream and slushies!

We are so proud of the kids trying hard at school - it was a good year for both of them!
Happy Summer :)
