Colin's many faces

Colin is getting quite the personality lately. Sometimes he just hates getting his picture taken, other times he is very cooperative. One day last week, he got up from his nap in a particularly good mood. He was sitting on our counter (I know, I know, but somehow this habit got started where he has to eat his snack sitting on our kitchen island - he hasn't fallen yet!) so I grabbed my camera and had a blast. Maybe this is just his modeling shoot for his new hair cut :)

He's saying "uh-oh" here...

One of my favorite pics EVER! His laugh is so contagious, he thought it was funny I was taking so many pictures of him. Brian was egging him on, but he is such a happy kid!

Another favorite of mine...he loves to imitate Brian and I and we were doing a surprised face! This expression happened and he burst out laughing again!

Brian was home with Colin one day and Colin insisted upon wearing his hat outside and didn't really take it off for a while once they got inside. I promise we keep our house warm in the winter and it doesn't require wearing a hat.

Colin with his buddy Jake. He is still obsessed with Jake, but has gotten much more gentle with him. Colin does have some troubles staying out of Jake's food and water dishes, but that's because he insists on Jake eating and drinking everything in his dish. He will chase him around the house with handfuls of food trying to get him to eat. The water dish, well, we all know how well that travels in the hands of a 19-month old chasing after a dog...

Love this kid!

Another hair cut

Seriously, Brian and I didn't notice how long Colin's hair was getting...he looked like a rag-a-muffin and we didn't even see it. Well, thank goodness for coupons! We found a "buy an adult cut, get a kids cut free" coupon and hopped in the car. Once again, Colin did great and just sat there like an angel. He laughed when the lady used the clippers since it tickled his neck.
So, now we have 1/2 inch sides and 1 inch hair on top. Sounds like a good spring-time cut to me!
Before getting the top cut. The lady said his hair was almost 4 inches long on top! Yikes.

They had basketball playing on some of the TVs. He watched Texas lose to Nebraska, can't you tell he's excited?!

He got some hair on his hands, then of course, it went immediately in his mouth. Good thing we had a sippy cup close by. Nothing more irritating then having little hairs in your mouth.

We didn't get a finish product pic, but I took lots of pictures of Colin playing outside yesterday. Winter blessed us with a 70 degree day and we spent almost all of Colin's waking hours playing outside chasing the ball around and digging in the dirt. Oh, and eating the dirt too.

Will post those later!

Fun in the sun

Colin is definitely an outdoors kid. He loves it out there and gets so upset when he has to come inside. That is fine with us, we get some fresh air/exercise too! I am so glad to start walking around our neighborhood again. I feel like I have gained much more weight with this little girl than with Colin. However, I do know that first pregnancies tend to be much different then later ones. It's still so hard not to compare them though.

Showing off his awesome soccer ball throwing skills

This is his stance right before he kicks the ball. I think it's hilarious! I'm not sure where he learned it from...

Taking a break from all the running around to play in the rocks/mud

Back at it again!

Gross, can you see all the mud on his face?! It was everywhere!

So stinkin' cold...then finally...

Like I've said before...it's been a long winter. Colin just throws a fit everytime we come in from the car because he wants to go outside and play. This will be very good in the spring, but we're not quite there yet weather-wise. We have managed to have fun indoors though.

Brian and Colin playing "airplane" (sorry, my finger was over half of the flash, hence the dark side of the picture)

Colin and Mommy playing

We got Colin a "big brother" book, just to start reading whenever we could get him to focus for a bit. A lot of our friends recommended this book and so far, he's loving it. Whenever we talk about Baby Sister he runs over to my belly and gives it a hug. He knows exactly where she is, because we pray for her every night. Hopefully this gentle behavior will continue...

Colin and Daddy playing "horsie". Looks like fun to me!

On Sunday of this week, the weather was awesome, and the sun was out, and the snow was melting (finally). We headed out after naptime and pushed some snow around, and of course, ran off some energy. Colin loved it!

The wet, melting snow was perfect for making a snowman, so here it is! What a cool-looking snowman!

Long days of winter

The winter season is still upon us, and we have gotten lots of snow this year. The snow is still falling down, and currently I am at home with Colin while Brian is working. Supposed to get around a foot of snow the next day or so, we'll see what actually falls.
We had to take Colin to the doctor last night because he has had a bad cough and nasty, snotty nose for over 3 weeks now. Turns out, the doc thinks it was a sinus infection...so another round of antibiotics for us.

We went to Grammie and Granddad's house on Sunday to celebrate Aunt Katie's birthday. Colin always has a blast playing with his cousin Olivia and Grammie's huge bucket of toys. Olivia found some swim goggles and was wearing them around the house...
So did Colin...
