Kansas City Chiefs Game!!

Brian and I were fortunate enough to be able to go to a Chiefs game this season (and they actually WON the game, too!). We had so much fun there. We met up with Brian's dad, brother, and brother-in-law, as well as my sister, mom, and Chad. We grilled out before the game and it was great weather, too! The Chiefs recently renovated the stadium, and it was nice to go to a game and enjoy the fun atmosphere.

Football games make for a long day though, especially when you get there 3 hours before kickoff and get stuck in traffic on the way home. But, we had a great time.

After the game, we picked up Colin from Grammie's house. Here Colin is helping Granddad air up his tires.

Colin got ahold of a bottle of water on the way home, thus, spilling it everywhere and competely soaking his clothes. Here he is post-water spillage, running around in only his diaper and shoes. Look at those chunky legs! :)

He loves the blow-up balls that Memaw got him. What fun!

KC Marathon

A group of friends from work decided to enter to run in the Kansas City Marathon (as a relay team). There were 5 of us, each running a portion of the race somewhere between 3.3 miles and 6.9 miles. I ran the 6.9 mile leg.

I hadn't really been training all that vigorously, I guess I figured my "athletic" ability would get me through the majority of it. Somehow I forgot that I really am not a runner. But, I felt great the morning of the run and was pretty excited to do it.

We entered under the team name "tacky cardias", since we all work in Cardiology. We ran with mismatched crazy socks and fun hair bows. The run took the majority of the day by the time we grabbed lunch afterwards, but it was a fun experience. Brian was in Oklahoma golfing that weekend, so I had Grammie watch Colin. Man, was I pooped when I had to deal with Colin all by myself that afternoon and the next day. That kid can wear me out anyway, let alone after a long run like that!

If you look really hard in the middle of the pic, that's me on the right and my girlfriend Ashley on the left. She joined me the last little bit of my run to finish with me. That was a nice way to end my run!

The backs of our shirts indicated our length of run. Little did we know, they would change the course a bit and we would all be running a slightly different route. Oh well!

We had such a great time. It was very good motivation for us to all keep on our running schedules. Way to go Tacky Cardias!

I was just cleaning out some pictures from the camera and found these from a few days last week.

Colin was chewing on his "toothbrush" that is actually supposed to slip on a finger. And then attempting to stick it in my mouth. Yuck!

After dinner, we go for a walk around in our neighborhood while we pull Colin in his wagon. Then, we hit bathtime and get ready for bed. Lately, we have all been playing for a little bit in Colin's room before bedtime. Colin has so much fun with Daddy. Here's a video of Daddy making Colin laugh really hard.

Pumpkin Patch

Brian, Colin and I headed to a nearby pumpkin patch last week. We weren't sure how Colin was going to take it, but of course, he had a great time. This pumpkin patch had it all, a petting zoo, pig races, a train, hayrack rides out to the pumpkin patches, several areas for photo ops, etc. Colin still just LOVES animals, so we didn't make it past the petting zoo. That was fine with us, we had spent enough time there, but Colin just had a blast feeding the pets.

It was a beautiful day, around 80 degrees, a little breeze. We had a wonderful time!

Definitely, Cute as a pumpkin!

There was one particular Pygmy goat that Colin adored. It was really funny too, cause he was this big, odd looking white goat with a long beard and horns. I thought for sure he would love the cute little baby goats, but no, he thought this guy was the best.

Colin showing off the piggie! Oh, and of course, pointing with his MIDDLE finger on his right hand. This kid is funny. He points with his pointer finger on his left hand, then uses his middle on his right hand. We are working on that...not exactly the politically correct way to point!

This was when I had to get after Colin a bit. He was trying to feed the chickens little pebbles he found on the ground. He got confused about needing to feed the animals the special food we bought rather than random things he found on the ground!

We had a blast at the sound station. This is where there were pots and pans strung along a chain and they had various items around for the kids to make some noise! Colin just loved it!

And finally, Colin just loves to pick up rocks and stones. He could've spent just as much time here at this rock pile as he spent anywhere else. We had to pull him away, kicking and screaming!

Sunny afternoon

It seems like we are getting a taste of fall here in KC. It's really nice to be able to head outside to burn off some energy as the afternoon is winding down. Of course, Colin has very important things to do outside, such as picking up leaves from one side of the sidewalk and transfering them to the other side. Or, picking up tiny pebbles and placing them on his slide in the backyard. He is such a busy baby these days.

We had another round of sickness last week, consisting of a double ear infection (we don't really think he ever got rid of his first bout of ear infection earlier in September) and Croup. So, he got some really strong antibiotics and a steroid. This past weekend, we had our fun and happy Colin returned to us! Yeah for medicine!

Checking things out. Notice Colin is sitting in the grass. Apparently he doesn't like the feel of walking in grass (with or without shoes on), so whenever he gets placed on grass, he immediately sits down or crawls around. I don't get him at all!

Colin has also started removing the register covers from around our house. He is always into something! At least he hasn't started putting things down the vent (yet!)
