JCPenney pics 2018

As in previous years, I bought a Groupon for JCPenney portraits to get our family pics done for Christmas cards.

Every year they seem to get better and better!!

Eli was super cooperative and smiley, and Colin and Maggie are always awesome when it comes to pictures these days.

Enjoy the photos from our photoshoot!

New flooring and ordinary days

First - a cute picture of Maggie in her recital costume -they are dancing to the Nutcracker at the Christmas recital and she is so pumped!

Next...
We finally did it and decided to get new flooring - we went with Hallmark engineered hardwood floors and they look awesome!

It was a long week of install (with almost 3 days of demo - dust and debris everywhere, not my style!) but they look so good and we are super happy with them!

During - yuck!

During - we ate out for almost a week and it was killin' me!

After - a little snippet of the flooring - for some reason I didn't get a good picture of them once installed, but I think Brian did so I'll steal it from his phone

Brian and I got to go out with my old co-worker Rich Sabath - we went to his house for drinks and appetizers before dinner, then got some really great barbeque at Blind Box barbeque in Lenexa.

Such a fun evening spent with friends!

Football tournaments and Arleigh's bday party

We've had some car mishaps lately, starting with Brian needing a new tire after he had a 'slow leak' on his (fixable) - and me having a complete flat tire and needing a new one (which resulted in us buying me 4 new tires because of a deal they were running), and then I got rear-ended one morning on the way to work (not a big deal, the guy behind me wasn't watching because he was trying to keep his chili from spilling all over his car).

Thank goodness for AAA!

A cute and random picture of Eli and I

Colin (#10) played in a flag football tournament a couple weekends ago- their team played great!

While Colin was playing football, Maggie, Eli and I went to Arleigh's 2nd birthday party!
It was so nice spending time with her - she's always so serious around me, but someday I will convince her that I am a 'cool aunt'! :)

Colin's team ended up making the championship game and won!

It was a long weekend in the cold but he had so much fun!

They always look so silly with their mouthguards in!

Afterwards the coaches took the players to a pizza shop and let them play some games, too.

Such a fun season!
Colin learned so much since this was his first time playing.
Way to go, Trojans!

Halloween 2018

We made our best attempt at a family themed costume again this year, although we might have been stretching it a little.

We are the 'Sporty Tesons'

We stopped at Grammie and Granddads for our first candy stop, then went back home to get situated with our neighbors for some fun trick or treating!

Can't you just hear Eli growling :)

Of course Maggie was more than happy to throw on the cheerleading costume and get her hair in a 'high pony'!

Colin went out with his buddy from school, Evan, and our neighbors up the street.
Maggie was a sweetheart and stayed with Eli and helped him out!

A group picture of some of our buddies!

This year the weather wasn't too cold (just a heavy sweatshirt or jacket was good) - and Colin and his friends stayed out really late running around getting gobs of candy.  Maggie cut it short to be with Eli and came back to the house to hand out candy to the trick or treaters.

Another fun Halloween!

Apple Orchard 2018

We took the family to the Apple Orchard again this year (we made it one day before it closed for the season, but hey, who's counting?!)  :)

We decided to pop the $10 and allow the kids to jump on the bounce structure, ride bikes, etc.

They had a blast and would've stayed all day if we hadn't left to go home and watch the Chiefs game!

It surprisingly wasn't all that busy - the weather was chilly but not bad.
We did the hay rack ride as well!

Always a favorite - feeding the goats!  Best 25 cents we spend!

Eli especially loves it!

My best attempt at a family selfie!

Cute kids!!

We weren't even looking into the sun, yet everyone has their eyes closed!!!

After the hay rack ride - Eli was not having it!

But he quickly perked up when we got to play in this little house with Daddy!

Another fun fall activity that I hope we can continue to do as the kids get older!!
