Eli's 2nd Birthday!

I can't believe we officially have a 2 year old running around our house.

He was so cute whenever we talked about his birthday - the excitement was intense!

We put tons of balloons out in the main room when Eli woke up - he LOVES balloons right now so that was pretty neat watching him run around, shrieking in delight! :)

He was scared to hold all of the helium balloons for some reason, but we got a dozen of them to hand out to the kids at the party

Meemaw and Arleigh (who will be turning one soon!)

Eli got the most thoughtful gifts for his bday - lots of puzzles and books and playdoh - so much fun!

He still talks about his birthday cake - he thought it was pretty special that the ENTIRE cake was for him :)

Singing Happy Birthday to him

It took a few tries - but he got his candle blown out and was so proud!

Ugh!!! So much cake and ice cream!

Proud Daddy with the bday boy

Smirky smile with his giant "2" balloon

We also had some donuts the morning of his actual bday on 10/01

He LOVES donuts!

Special treats for his special day

After his bday we hit up Maggie's soccer game...
She had some special fans there to cheer her on!

And then Meemaw took us out to Mexican for dinner - So much fun!!

Ordinary Days in September

Just cleaning out some pictures from my phone and came across a few that I wanted to post.
This blog really does serve as a sort of scrapbook for me, which is nice because I DEFINITELY don't have time to scrapbook otherwise! :)

Eli always trying to be like Colin, wearing his shin guards and soccer cleats

One of my co-workers of almost 10 years switched jobs and we threw her a little happy hour her last day.  Going to miss Kristyn!!!

Our Cardiology team is so much fun

Eli found an old Halloween costume - it fits him perfectly, which we'll let him wear for now since we have different costumes for Halloween this year

Not sure why Moose looks so sad in this picture - he was happy as can be laying in the sun on our steps, and LOVES it when Colin comes around to pet him.
Maybe he was just REALLY relaxed and almost sleepy :)

Maggie wanted to join in (both in their soccer gear, headed to a game, of course!)

Eli is such a trooper getting hauled all over KC to this and that.
He's easily entertained and loves the fresh air!

We were able to get tickets to a Sporting KC game last weekend
As luck would have it, it was about 95 degrees but we had a lot of fun!!

Maggie and Eli's first SKC game

We had great seats

A little family selfie

Colin had a lot of fun watching the game - he didn't even notice Eli or Maggie getting antsy and walking up and down the stairs 100 times :(

On our way out of the stadium.
We had so much fun that afternoon !

At a really cool park with the Parks!

We found time a few weeks ago to meet up with the Parks family at a really cool climbing park in Grandview.  It wasn't very busy at all because there was a storm about to roll in, but we took advantage of the morning anyway and got in some much-needed energy burn.

Colin dominated all the climbing structures.  This one had a neat slide that was connected to the top.

There were also lots of other structures for smaller children to use.

Eli and Arleigh thought this one was a lot of fun (ha!  Look at their serious faces!)

Even the big kids (a.k.a Brian and Chad) had fun maneuvering their way through the maze of ropes

Just relaxing

There was even a zip line that was pretty neat

The kids took turns flinging themselves back and forth

Maggie was really brave and climbed pretty high!

Silly Colin!

Girls pic

This thing went round and round like a Merry Go Round.
Makes me dizzy even thinking about it...

My boys

Waiting on the rain to stop...

We went back to Tiff and Chad's place once it started raining.
The kids loved running around, even if it was a little wet outside.

That poor Gator always runs out of battery by the end of our visits - it gets used non-stop!!!

Crazy drivers!!

We got this pretty cute pic of all the grandkids with Meemaw

Later that week we took Colin's friend Evan out for some Hawaiian shaved ice before it closed for the school year.

Crazy colored tongues!

11th Anniversary and our life lately...

Brian and I were able to sneak away for a bit to celebrate our 11th anniversary!
We drove down to the River Market, caught the new street car and rode it down to Main street.
We walked to 3 breweries and fun restaurants to relax!

Waiting for the street car

Enjoying a beverage

Found some new KC graffiti on the walls downtown

Went to a nice Arcade place (that Colin would LOVE!!)

Riding the street car back to River Market

In other news....
Eli and Maggie giggled for hours after putting gummy bears on their upper lips

Meemaw came to visit and Eli LOVED doing puzzles with her

Colin played a soccer game under the lights one night (his first night game - it was fun!)

And Maggie had a friend over for a play date - they got to decorate cookies!
