Omaha Coco Key 2016

As per tradition, we headed up to Omaha for our Coco Key groupon that we do every year around this time.  Once again, we got to hang out with our old college friends and have a ton of kids running around.  Poor Maggie was the only girl, but she took it all in stride!

All the kiddos!

Maggie wanted a picture with Brian

The kids had a blast at the water park!

Eli loved the lazy river

Maggie wished I wouldn't have forgotten her goggles, but she managed okay without them!

Love this cute pic of the kids taking a bath after swimming one night

So many cute smiles from everyone

Eli enjoying the slides

Loving the water

My heart!

Thanks again for the great trip to Omaha, Coco Key!
I'm sure we'll see you soon :)

trunk or treat

Another random post about Halloween this year - the kids did some trunk or treating at the local YMCA the Friday before Halloween.  It was a lot of fun and many groups in the community came out to see the kids and families.

Eli munched on an apple pretty much the whole time - it was a perfect treat for him and kept him busy while we were waiting in line!

A couple cute pics of Eli (and a walking video)

Eli is such a trooper when it comes to being lugged around to various sporting events and family activities.  We usually just bring along this tot-sized chair and he's fairly happy!

I caught these pictures of him while at Colin's soccer game a few weeks ago, just as the sun was setting behind him

Oh, and we have a walker in the house now,  he's everywhere and so proud of himself!

Dance pictures for the Christmas recital

Maggie had dance pictures tonight and she was so excited to get dressed up in her recital costume.  The girls did look pretty cute in their matching outfits.

Quincy, Angelina, and Mags (her buddies from school)

After Maggie got her pictures done by the professional photographer, I snapped a few of her doing the same poses.  They were charging some super expensive price for their picture packages, so I did the same thing that I did for Colin's soccer pictures - I just took my own for free!

We can't wait for her recital on December 3rd.

birthday parties and watch night at dance

This has been almost a month ago, but thought I would put these pics up just for the memories!

Maggie was invited to one of her good friends from Pre-K, Jeanelle's, birthday party.
It was at a really cool gym sort of place with tons of interactive stuff to play on.

The kids had a blast!

Colin was busy trying to wiggle his loose tooth out!

These girls have been good friends ever since 2 or 3 years old.
Violet, Maggie, Jeanelle, and Zoey

Colin did awesome at the climbing wall

And that blurry pink thing is Maggie having a blast on the trampoline

There was even a zip line there

That next Monday, was the first "watch night" for dance class
Maggie was so excited to have me there to watch.
Colin and Brian were bummed they couldn't be there, but it was the same night as soccer practice so they couldn't make it.

She's pretty flexible

Running and leaping!

Maggie's first dance recital is on December 3rd.
This is her costume she will wear!
Maggie loves all the sparkle and bling!

Soooo cute!

A Star Wars Halloween 2016

We had a fantastic Halloween this year!
It was so fun doing family costumes - we decided to do Star Wars theme!

Colin was super excited about being Yoda, Maggie was loving the idea of being Princess Leia, we thought Eli would make an adorable Ewok, and Brian and I got our Star Wars characters by default.  He figured we needed to have a Hans Solo or Luke Skywalker, and then of course, we had to have a Darth Vader.  So, that was me.  I'd like to think it's not because I'm a big meanie, but that might be.

Since Halloween fell on a Monday, we carved pumpkins the weekend before so that they didn't get rotten before Halloween night.  It worked out perfect that we didn't have a soccer game or other commitment that day.

Maggie didn't want to do any carving, just some painting.
Fine by me!

The boys with the bag of pumpkin guts!

Part way through with Maggie's painting

Brian working hard with the scary faced pumpkin

Colin also decided he wanted to paint a Pikachu on another pumpkin.
He drew it all by himself and painted it, too!
I was really impressed.

Brian still working hard...

Colin's Pikachu pumpkin - still working on it

Maggie's painted pumpkins turned into painting the whole thing...
She had fun though, that's all that matters!

My boys

Eli wanted to hang with his brother on the couch - it was so cute!

Colin even got Eli laughing so hard

We went to Grammie and Granddad's for dinner on Halloween.
It was a little tricky though, because maggie had a tummy ache and wasn't really interested in anything at all besides hanging out in the bathroom.
She did escape long enough for a family picture, but just couldn't really muster up a smile :)

A group picture with our KC cousins

Our 3 goobers right before heading out to trick or treat.
Maggie did end up rallying and feeling better once she had a little 10 minute power nap.

We had a great night and the weather was perfect - about 70 degree while they were walking around the neighborhood.
Eli and I handed out the candy while Brian took the other 2 out for the night.

It was a little hard being a Monday night and staying up past bedtime, but we're recovering nicely.

Happy Halloween!
