Family pics 2015

I got our family pictures back last week.  I always hope for just one good one of all of us, and a couple good ones of the kids (maybe even one of the two of them together).  This year was our "we're on it" year, and we got so many great ones!

Mary did a fabulous job of capturing our family.  We did them at the Crossroads area in downtown KC.  We had plans originally to do them at the West Bottoms, but there was a huge beer festival going on that weekend, which interrupted our plans.

The kids did great (with some bribing of cotton candy!), and it wasn't too hot out yet at 9 am.  

Now I have a huge task of picking which ones I want printed - any advice is welcome!

Another year of pictures in the books - I was thinking of getting some printed off for Christmas cards, then I realized we'd have an almost 3 month old little boy at that point.

All sorts of sports

We are in full swing with our busy summer nights, and it really has been so much fun!

Maggie started T-ball with a group of girls  and just a few boys.  Most of the girls actually attend to the pre-K that we do - many are in Maggie's class.  She's not the most aggressive player out there, but she seems to be having a lot of fun!  Brian is assistant coaching her team - and Colin always tries to help out, too, which is pretty cute to watch.

 Maggie is number 10.  I ordered the smallest size shirt, but she's a little munchkin.

All of those girls were so excited for Maggie to come to practice (since we missed the first one when we were in Texas).  They all insisted on standing right by her on the field.

It isn't a genuine Maggie smile, but still pretty cute.

Colin started Machine Pitch baseball a couple weeks ago, too.

He's doing really well and also enjoying himself.

 He hits a lot of foul balls, and I can't wait to see him improve over the summer!

Colin also had his first ever swim meet this week.

He entered in the 25 free and he rocked it!

I remember these days like yesterday!

Colin was the youngest kid in the event, and ended up placing 8th overall.  All the other swimmers were 7 or 8 years old - he is small but mighty!

His time was 35.27 seconds and he was most excited about the lollipop he got when he finished.

We were so proud of him.

I happened to get some tickets from a co-worker to the Sporting KC game tonight.

Colin has been asking to go and it seemed like a perfect opportunity for some Daddy -Colin time.

 He was pretty tired from a SUPER long week - but seemed to have perked up a bit with some cookies and cotton candy! :)  Works like a charm every time!

Can't wait for the 4th of July this weekend - seems like June has just flown by!

Fun in Texas

The whole Teson clan (minus Chris, Caitlin, and Daniel, who couldn't make it) drove our way down to Texas to hang out with Scott and his family.

The kids did a great job in the car - 8.5 hours each way.  No complaints, other than the occasional "i'm hungry" or "i have to go to the bathroom".  It was fantastic!

Texas was a super balmy 94 degrees while we were there, so we spent a lot of time at the pool, water park, or splash park.  The boys foolishly went golfing (right around noon one day), and were sunburned and tired that night.  They also hit up a brewery and a Top Golf one morning.  The girls went to some awesome outlet shops and had Gelato and got pedicures.  It was so much fun, but not so much fun when we got a flat tire on the way back from shopping!  Thanks for coming to our rescue Michael and Scott to help change the tire.  We had dinner every night at the Teson house (thanks Suzanne and Kathy!) and spent many nights playing some really fun board games.

If you can imagine 17 people in one house - it was crowded but amazing!

The kids are already asking to go back to Texas (literally the next morning after returning back to KC), and we are so blessed to have such a fun and loving family!

Before Olivia and Johnny arrived, the kids hit up a splash park - so much fun!

Waiting for Hawaiian Falls to open up - an ENTIRE day spent at the water park - the slides and wave pool were a hit with Colin, and Maggie loved the lazy river and kiddie area.  Tons of fun for everyone!

It was a short, but really fun trip!  Thanks for the great vacation!

More graduations, housework, weddings, and swimming!

We have been having so much fun lately - can't believe school is out for the summer!

Colin graduated from Pre-K and will be hitting up Kindergarten in August.

He is so excited to start at his new school.

She is moving back to Iowa this year - we wish her all the best!

Meanwhile, Brian and I knocked one more thing off our to-do list.

We (mainly, him) painted the entryway to our house.  It required a 2 story scaffolding as well as multiple ladders.  While we were up there, Brian installed a new light fixture for our foyer.

It looks wonderful!

One of Brian's cousins, Jessica, got married over the weekend.

Our whole family was ready to boogie it up on the dance floor.

Remember when Maggie was going to stop sucking her thumb when she turned 4?

We'll keep working on it...

Oh, and now that our neighborhood pools are open - we are spending a lot of time there.

Colin started swim team this week and is doing great!
