We had such a fun time in Texas!!!
The entire family went and stayed in a super cute condo resort on the beach!
It had a nice multi-level pool and a slide, with a lazy river and multiple hot tubs.
The beach was just a short walk from the back of the resort - we didn't have to cross the street to get there, which made it even better!
We stayed in a hotel in Oklahoma on the way down.
Girl time!
We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel
Ate some yummy cupcakes in honor of my birthday!
There was a casino attached to the hotel, and we had some money to spend since we bought a Groupon for the night stay.
Us Dudley girls did some early morning gambling (and took an illegal picture inside the casino!)
Then we drove all day on Friday to stay the night in Katy, TX at Chad's sisters house.
They were super hospitable and let us take over their house, their pool, and even fed us dinner.
We had so much fun!
Arleigh is fearless in the water!
So many kids just splashing around, ready to move since we had been cooped up in the car all day
Enjoying the hot tub!
We got up the next day and went to see our favorite Claire in her new apartment in Houston. It wasn't too far away from Galveston so we took a little detour and crashed her place.
We had a nice visit and the kids were so glad to see her!
We checked into the resort on Saturday afternoon and hit the pool up immediately.
We sent Chad and Brian to get a few things from the grocery store and ordered Jimmy Johns for dinner. Easy Peasy!
It had a really neat multi-leveled pool and everyone had a lot of fun splashing around in it!
We all loved the hot tub
Poor Colin was getting over his double ear infection so he had to wear ear plugs and a swim cap for the first part of our trip.
Tiff and Arleigh
It took a little work with a wheelchair and some muscle, but we got Meemaw out on the beach a couple days while we were there. She was searching for seashells and found some really neat ones
Eli just LOVED playing in the wet sand - he was a mess almost much the whole time we were there and I'm pretty sure it was the best time of his life! :)
A quick sister selfie
Claire came on Sunday morning to spend some time with us at the beach
She's just like an extra member of our immediate family - we love her to pieces!
We buried Colin - he was laughing so hard! :)
and of course Eli wanted a turn!
Relaxing in the waves
Arleigh was a trooper and pretty much slept wherever we could lay her down.
Fun kids picture!
Claire offered to watch all of the kids for us so the adults could go out to dinner by ourselves.
She was definitely outnumbered but did it all in stride.
Love her!
Some of Meemaws shells actually had sea creatures in them - it was pretty cool watching them wiggle around on the counter
The resort had a theatre room you could reserve - so we did - and rented a Redbox movie.
The whole family LOVED Ferdinand and we even had a dance party in the front when it was over.
Maggie couldn't wait to paint aunt Tiffey's nails -she brought everything she would need to do a nail salon.
The rest of the crew had to head home on Tuesday, whereas we stayed until Friday.
We made lots of sand castles - and luckily they were usually partly standing after the evening so we could just add on to where we were the day before.
It was rainy and stormy one morning so we reserved the theatre room again. Poor Eli almost made it the whole time, but he ended up crashing!
We went to Pleasure Pier on Wednesday.
It's a fun little amusement part on the Pier so they had some really fun rides right over the water.
We spent all day there - just took a little break for lunch and headed back.
I was laughing so hard on this ride - I am not much of a 'ride' person, and this made me feel like my stomach was dropping - the kids thought it was hilarious!
On the ferris wheel - Eli loved it and we rode it multiple times, over and over...
We also rode the carousel a lot
Maggie and Colin loved the bumper cars
We were hot and sweaty - but did have lots of fun!
Can you tell by Eli's face?!?!
More ferris wheel pics...
Colin and Brian rode on this ride that puts you REALLY high into the air and swings you around. It was crazy!
Look how high up they are!
Oh Maggie...
getting some beach pics our last day...
Eating some seafood and this cute place on the pier close to our resort
We walked down the pier after lunch and there were tons of people there fishing.
This gentleman and his wife let the kids help them fish and reel them in when they caught one.
They all had a blast and didn't want to leave!
We left super early on Friday morning and drove to Allen, TX to visit the Texas Tesons on the way home. It was nice to run and stretch our legs some!
We made the rest of the 14 hour drive all that day - it was LONG but super fun!
The kids did really well in the car.
Thanks for the fun trip, Galveston!!!
