a fun filled Labor Day weekend

We kicked off Labor Day weekend by going to the pool on Friday night and ordering some pizza to be delivered there!  The kids always have so much fun when they can eat at the pool.

Well, it was pretty chilly out, and we were originally at a small pool in our neighborhood and decided to ditch that one for the big, heated pool.  Much better decision.

Here are Maggie and Colin with our good neighborhood friends

Here's our silly pic.
Thanks, Colin!

Saturday was our 10 year anniversary.
10 years, huh.
It took some planning between 3 members of our family, but we were able to get them to commit to watching the kids for us for a few hours so we could get away for dinner and drinks.

It really was nice being able to hold an uninterrupted conversation with him.

We hit up a fairly newish place called Ruins pub.  It was a lot of fun.
You can see behind us, they have a whole bunch of beers on tap, you get a charge card, and then just fill up your glass with however much beer you want.  You can literally get 25 cents worth if you just want a taste (which is what Brian did in the above picture).

On Sunday morning, we went for a hike on the Nature trail at the Parkville Sanctuary

There was a beautiful waterfall there

There was also a HUGE hill that Colin and Maggie decided they wanted to run up.
Well, Colin did fine, but Maggie needed some help, so she got carried up via Brian's back.
He said it was pretty hard.

Then Colin ran down the hill and wiped out, which I was able to witness - made my day!

We also went to the Tiffany Springs pool on Sunday morning -
It was soooo cold out and the water was freezing, but the kids had fun.
Colin and Brian lasted the longest, Eli next, and then Maggie.  She was out and covered up in her towel, trying to soak up the sun.

Eli was clapping, he had so much fun!

And under that mound of towels is my daughter.
She fell asleep.

Eli is into everything these days!

Then on Sunday evening we went and barbecued at our friends, Brett and Andy's new place.
It was great hanging out and spending some much needed time together.
Just love their son Ben - he's so cute!
We even got to ride around on their golf cart - they have such a great neighborhood!

Labor Day weekend was busy and fun!
