After talking it up for a few weeks, Colin was ready for his big trip to the dentist...for the first time!
The pediatric dentist office was really neat, it had safari animals all over the place.
We got a 7 am appointment so there was no waiting, which would've actually been okay with Colin and Maggie because they had all sorts of toys in the waiting room.
We got called back really quickly and Colin hardly had any time to adjust before he was thrown into the dentist chair. They only allowed one parent back with him in the room, but Maggie and I were right outside, providing all sorts of support!
He was good to go until she tried to tilt the chair back...
that kindof freaked him out a bit...
Yikes! Get me out of here, Dad!
Then he relaxed a little bit, watched some Curious George and let the hygienist clean his teeth, floss, and we even got some xrays done.
Maggie was busy watching the fish and being a crazy 20-month-old right outside the door
Colin did great getting his xrays, too.
He got to sit in my lap, which helped a ton.
Overall, no cavities and a clean set of teeth.
They did tell us to start saving some money for orthodontic work later on, cause apparently his baby teeth are pretty close together (they prefer for them to have gaps in between them) and his permanent teeth will be much bigger, thus, not having enough room to fit in properly.
Way to go, Colin! Way to be brave at the dentist!
